Methodology

This report counts WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) Act notices with a notice date in July 2026, as published in official state WARN reports and aggregated in the JobForge WARN layoff tracker. Worker counts are the totals employers reported at filing and may later be revised or rescinded; notices already rescinded by the employer are excluded from this report's counts. Notice dates are as published by each state — for New York, the notice date is the date NYSDOL posted the notice to its public WARN dashboard. Coverage is limited to the states JobForge currently tracks and has expanded over time, so month-over-month comparisons partly reflect coverage changes as well as filing activity. The full per-filing dataset is downloadable as CSV. New to WARN notices? Start with what a WARN notice is and how to read one. This report is informational and is not legal advice.
